[edit] "I Love You, Kyon!"
Didn't Yuki directly say "I love you" once?
- I don't recall, but my memory's terrible. What occasion? Lunettes 12:07, 14 June 2008 (UTC)
- I havn't really seen the episode (yet) but... the Island episode, part one (i think)
- They... took a lot of artistic liberty with that episode. That aside, that wasn't a direct declaration. Haruhi ended up winning a game they played to pass the time (How is the King) and told Yuki ("Number One") simply to turn her head and say "I love you". Yuki, obviously, complies, albeit as emotionlessly as always. Lunettes 01:05, 18 June 2008 (UTC)

[edit] SQL
On googling around, I learned that Yuki's invocations are actually some sort of SQL (reversed and speeded up). So I tried to find one such incantation and see if it's true. I tried Episode 7, around the 14:20 mark. But reversing and slowing that down doesn't seem to help much in making the incantation any more understandable :-P. So I'm confused. I wonder what the orginal source of this information is, and if it's true, what SQL queries is she running? :-) --80.126.238.189 01:41, 12 July 2008 (UTC)
- In the first novel Yuki uses a SQL query (with some syntax errors):
SELECT serial_code
FROM database
WHERE code='data'
ORDER BY aggressive_combat_data
HAVING terminate_mode

[edit] Trivia
"Though known to talk in the presence of others, Nagato has said very little to people other than Kyon and has only spoken to Haruhi Suzumiya and Itsuki Koizumi each once, when in Kyon's presence (it is implied that Haruhi has spoken to her on two other occasions). In both occasions, the subject was more of an announcement. With the exception of her script during the movie, she has never spoken to Mikuru. She has only ever engaged in an actual conversation with Kyon and Ryoko."
Speaking as someone who has read all nine novels out so far, Nagato has spoken to Haruhi and Koizumi more than once, and she has definitely spoken to Mikuru.
She's held a conversation with Mikuru in Volume 4 and 7, if I remember correctly, about time travel. Well, in the beginning of Volume 7, it was more her commanding her away from the clubroom, but still, it was direct address. Actually, it seems as though most of the lines she says to Mikuru are commands..."eat" (volume 7), "go ahead and shoot" (making of the Mikuru movie), etcetera.
Also in Volume 7, Nagato reveals that she talked with Haruhi on the phone. Even if it consisted of just Haruhi mostly rambling as usual, Nagato and Haruhi still have spoken to each other. And of course, that isn't the only instance. There's Snow Mountain Syndrome. Well, that wasn't a proper conversation either, but still, they talked.
As for Koizumi, most of the conversation is her replying to (and sometimes ignoring) his queries and theories. She also holds a brief, enigmatic conversation with him in the movie:
"I cannot explain right now, but one day you will understand. You have two choices: You can choose me and advance this universe towards its true form, or choose her and pluck out the possibilities of the future."
If I remember correctly, 30% of this line by Yuki was made up on the spot. Is that sentence directed to Itsuki's real identity?
As for the true meaning of Nagato's...... Sorry, Yuki's words, we'll leave that till later. Itsuki now looked troubled and went into contemplation,
"I see. No matter which path he chooses...... No wait, right now that would be me in this scene. The key is with me, right? Come to think of it, there's not much a key can do besides opening the door. If that door opens, something would happen, right? I'm afraid if something does happen......"
Itsuki paused for a while, and for some reason he looked at the camera with very thoughtful eyes. Just who the hell is he speaking to?
"I understand now, Yuki-san. Right now I don't have the right to decide yet. It's still too early to come to any conclusions now. Can we leave this decision till later? We still need time to think about it. Of course if you're willing to tell us everything, then that's a different story."
"It won't be far off before we do that, but I am certain it is not now. We are used to viewing insufficient data as defects. We will not make any move if we are not absolutely sure of it."
Such an enigmatic conversation. There seems to be a bond of understanding between Itsuki and Yuki which no one else can comprehend.
- Vol. 6, Ch. 2 (Asahina Mikuru's Adventure Episode 00)
All-in-all, even Kyon notes that Nagato's become more talkative since Disappearance - or rather, since she stopped synchronization with her future self. Er, sorry if you don't get what I just said, I'm an avid novel fan and have just finished re-reading Volume 7.
Anyways, I'm thinking that this bit of trivia is referring to the first season of the anime. So, does revision need to be undergone?
